Balconies of Berlin is a short experimental Detective Game set in East-Berlin during the cold war. The player retrospects the night of the death of MfS-agent Sabine Richter by moving back and forth in time. By this, the player gets a unique view into the lives of 15 habitants of a Berliner plattenbau.
My main inspirations for the game were the books of John Le Carré, the games by Lucas Pope and the balconies I see everyday when I walk through Berlin. Also, the projects of other game developers in Berlin who are making games set in this city encouraged me to use it as a setting.
- Short Single Player Puzzle
- Unique time travel mechanic
- Soundtrack by Sergei Rachmaninoff
